Your Dahabiya Sailing Itinerary
Day 1-2
Arrive in Cairo where you will be met at the airport and taken to your hotel. Over the 2 days you will visit some spectacular sites:
- Pyramids
- City of the Dead
- Mosque
- Cairo Tower
- Cairo Museum
- Khan il Khalili Bazaar
Then on the second day take the overnight sleeper train or fly to Luxor where you will be taken to your hotel/apartment.
Day 3
Spend the day visiting some of the sites of Luxor:
- Valley of the Kings
- Hapshetsut Temple
- Colossus of Menon
- Karnak Temple
Days 4-8
You will be driven to Esna where you will board the Sandal Sobek and spend 4 glorious nights on the Sandal – when sailing on the beautiful Nile, all your food/drink is provided (alcohol is separate) .
You’ll be visiting a range of:
- Beaches
- Edfu Temple
- Kom Ombo Temple
- Daraw Village
- Ccamel Markets

Day 8
Fly to Cairo from Aswan and then from Cairo to your next destination
If you would like to extend the 8 day Sandal trip to visit the Red Sea in Hurghada then we can arrange transport/hotels and extra curriculum activities i.e quad biking, snorkelling, diving at an extra cost

Your Felucca Sailing Itinerary
Days 1-2
Arrive in Cairo where you will be met at the airport and taken to your hotel. Over the 2 days you will visit some of the local sites of Cairo:
- Pyramids
- City of the Dead
- Mosque
- Cairo Tower
- Cairo Museum
- Khan il Khalili Bazaar
Then on the second day take the overnight sleeper train or fly to Aswan where you will be taken to your hotel/apartment.
Day 3
Spend the day visiting local sites, including:
- Philae Temple
- Aswan High Dam
- Possible visit a Nubian village
- Elephantine Island
- Local Souks
Days 4-6
Board the felucca ‘Princess Sarah’ to enjoy sailing on the beautiful Nile, all your food and soft drinks are provided and you’ll be visiting:
- Beaches
- Kom Ombo Temple
- Daraw Village
- Camel Markets
Take in the breathtaking views on this idyllic river.
On the last morning you will leave the felucca and drive to Luxor where you will be taken to your hotel.
Day 7
Spend the day visiting some of the sites of Luxor:
- Valley of the Kings
- Hapshetsut Temple
- Colossus of Menon
- Karnak Temple
Day 8
Fly to Cairo from Luxor
If you would like to extend the 8 day Felucca to visit the Red Sea in Hurghada then we can arrange transport/hotels and extra curriculum activities i.e quad biking, snorkelling, diving at an extra cost.

The Dahabiya has 6 individual cabins which can accommodate up to 14 people, all with private bathroom ensuites, 2 of the main suites contain a double and a single bed to accommodate families with young children.
The Dahabiya has an enormous flat deck with plenty of shade from our large authentic canvas shelter. There is lots of space to spread out and enjoy yourself while lying in the sun soaking up the magical views of the Nile.
Our cabins are all fitted out in a rich combination of elegant colonial features, with traditional wood furnishings and a touch of authentic Egyptian decor.
While we depend on the wind for our sailing experience we also have access to a motor boat to assist us if the wind drops too much. The Dahabiya also has a generator which we have insulated to keep the noise to a minimum.
The boat is fully staffed, which means we will be available to attend to your every need while still ensuring your privacy is upheld.

Felucca's are traditional and simple Egyptian sailing boats which have been cruising the Nile since ancient times. Felucca's have one mast at the stern of the boat and are powered by the wind to propel them down the Nile, creating a peaceful ambience while taking in the spectacular scenery. The deck of the boat is covered in soft mattresses and cushions and has a canopy that offers shade from the sun. Beds and meals are provided however the toilet facilities are by way of using the natural surroundings.
We have an experienced and reliable captain and crew who have been sailing the Nile for many years and offer an exceptional wealth of knowledge about Egypt and the Nile to our guests on board.
With flexible itineraries our guests often choose to stay a little longer or see more sights of the Nile along the way. We regularly stop to take in the highlights of the river and also find many ideal swimming stopovers on our travels.
Our Felucca will sail during the day, passing villages and spectacular Egyptian sights and then put down the anchor each night on the riverside. Our guests sleep comfortably under the canopy looking up at the stars.
